Fort Lauderdale - Co-ed 10v10 Open KickballNumber of Players on the FieldEach fielding team will consist of a maximum of 10 players and a minimum of 8 players; 6 males and 4 females play each game. Teams can have a maximum of 6 men and a minimum of 3 women on the field at once. If a team cannot field the minimum number of 8 players, a forfeit will be declared, unless the team captains and referee agree on an alternate plan. Number of Players on a Team If a player signs up as an individual (not for a specific team), he or she will be placed on a team of 14 to 18 players, inclusive. Every player that signs up as an individual will be provided a Joimo t-shirt that he or she must wear to every game. Teams made up of individual sign-ups are permitted to bring walk-on players (see Walk-Ons) as long as the majority of the team votes that it is okay. A Joimo director will oversee the voting process if needed. In the case of a tie, the Joimo director will have the final decision. If a player signs up for a specific team, the team must have a minimum of 14 players on their roster. There is no maximum to the number of players on a team roster; however, once the league starts, the roster is considered final. Any additional players, not on the roster, can play for the team as a walk-on (see Walk-Ons). Joimo t-shirts will only be provided for the first 16 players and each additional player must purchase a Joimo t-shirt for $10 (price is subject to change). Walk-Ons A team is allowed to bring an unlimited number of walk-on players to the each game, however, these players are subject to pay $15 per match and pass all player eligibility. In addition, the walk-on player must sign a waiver of liability and play for only one team in that league. The walk-on player will be added to that team's roster. No new walk-on players will be allowed to play during the playoffs; however, walk-on players who have played with a team during regular season and are on the roster are eligible to play during playoffs. Player Eligibility All participants must be at least 18 years of age or older. Proper identification documentation (driver's license, ID card, passport, or military id) must be brought to every game for check-in. The referee and/or a Joimo sports director will check-in each player before the game is played, and no player shall be allowed to play if not checked-in. No jewelry, earrings, or bracelets will be allowed in play, unless properly bandaged and approved by the referee. Player Transfers Once a player is registered with a team, he or she may not switch to a different team in the same league without the written authorization of the team manager/captain and approval from a Joimo sports director. Field Size The field is a diamond with equal sides of 60 feet. The pitching mound is 40 feet from home plate. Player Equipment One 10 inch rubber ball will be provided by Joimo for each game. Substitutions Non-league members are not permitted to play as a substitute for a league member who is unable to play. All participants must be registered through Joimo in order to play in the league. There are free substitutions in the field. The pitcher and catcher positions may only be replaced once per inning unless injured. In case of an injury, a time out is called, and the injured player must be replaced by a player of the same sex. Players injured while running may be substituted by the player of the same sex. Forfeits If a team cannot field 8 players upon ten minutes of start time, then they will forfeit the game. A forfeit occurs after ten minutes from start time when one or both teams are unable to field the minimum of 8 players per team. The forfeit will be recorded in a loss of 0-3. If a forfeit is unavoidable, the forfeiting team may notify Joimo at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled match time; otherwise, the team will be charged a $30 fee and cannot play another game until the fee is paid. In case of a forfeit, Joimo will do its best to find a replacement team, but does not guarantee placement. Referees The referees are responsible for enforcing the league rules. All decisions of the referees shall be final. There will be at least one referee per game. At the end of each game the referees shall submit the game record and results to the Joimo director, including all additional information, such as roster, misconduct, injuries, etc. Duration of the Game A regulation game will be 8 innings long or one hour, whichever comes first. A game is considered official once 5 full innings have been completed. Regular season games may end in ties. During the playoffs, the winner shall be determined by whoever wins the next full inning (Both teams get at-bats). In playoff situations, each team shall play short one additional fielder for each inning beyond 8 in boy, girl, boy, girl order. For example, a team in the 11th inning must take two male players and one female off the field. These players still kick in their respective slot. The referee may call a game due to time if an inning may not reasonably be completed before the 60 minute time limit. General Rules A legal pitch is underhand and no higher than knee level of the batter (sidearm or overhand pitching is not allowed). Anything higher than the batters knee as it crosses the plate is a ball. The height of the last bounce before it crosses home plate will also be used to determine if it is a strike. A pitch must bounce at least two times before crossing the front plane of home plate to be a strike. Pitches will be thrown in a civil manner at a reasonable rate and not excessively bouncy. Fast pitch and curveballs are not allowed. Any pitch deemed by the referee or field monitor to be out of the context of a casual pitch (too fast or with curve) will result in a warning to the pitcher and a called ball. The next infraction will result in replacing the pitcher. The pitcher must pitch from the back rubber (running up to the rubber is not allowed). Once the ball is pitched, the pitcher may not pass the pitcher's mound until the ball is kicked. Lateral movement is permitted. The catcher must give the batter ample room to bat. The catcher may not break the plane of the front of home plate until the ball is kicked, and may not interfere with the batter. An infraction will result in a called ball. Even if the ball is kicked, in this case, it will be called a ball. The “away” team shall kick first. Each team may have base coaches at first and third bases. Kicks must be made by a part of the body below the knee. If a “Double kick” (the ball hitting the kicker's foot and/or leg twice in one kicking attempt) occurs in front of home plate, it is an out. If it occurs on or behind home plate, it is a foul ball. Bunting is not allowed for males, but females may kick any way possible. A bunt is considered any ball that is kicked and does not pass the imaginary line between the 1st and 3rd baseman and the pitcher. It will be counted as a strike for male kickers. This is up to the discretion of the head referee. Kickers must contact the ball behind the front plane of home plate. A ball kicked in front of the front plane of home plate is considered a foul ball. Such a kick can be caught for an out, if it is caught before hitting the ground. The pitcher, as well as the infielders, is not allowed to advance past the pitcher’s mound until the ball is kicked (imaginary line from connecting first and third base). The catcher must remain behind both home plate and the kicker until the ball is kicked. If the catcher passes the kicker then the pitch will be considered a ball, even if it is a strike. Three strikes make an out. A foul kick counts as a strike, except on the third strike there is one courtesy foul kick. There are no walks, after the three balls are pitched, the ball is placed on home plate and the kicker gets one kick. If the ball is kicked foul the player will be out. An out is also recorded if any of the following occurs: A) A kicked ball is caught before it hits the ground (in fair or foul territory) B) A kicked ground ball is fielded to a base for a force-out C) The defense pegs, throws a kickball, at the runner (at shoulder height and below) while they are not in contact with the base. If the runner is hit in the head the player is safe. If the runner is attempting to slide and is hit in any part of the body, they are out. It is an automatic out if the runner intentionally uses his/her head or neck to block a ball. A kicker who is running to first base may overrun first base. If any other base is overrun the runner is at risk of being tagged out. If the kicker turns left (into fair territory) when overrunning first base, he/she may be tagged out. When a kicked ball contacts a base runner, the runner is out and the ball is dead. All base runners are to return to the base they occupied before the pitch. There is no leading or stealing. Runners must stay in contact with the base until the kicker contacts the ball. If the runner attempts to lead or steal he/she will be out and the ball will be dead. Tagging up is permitted. After a fly ball is caught, a runner can attempt to advance to the next base as long as the runner goes back and touches, or is touching, the original base when the ball is caught. Runners must stay within the base lines or be called out at the referee’s discretion. A run scores when a runner crosses home plate before the third out, except when the third out is the result of a force play or when the kicker is called out before reaching first base. Fielders must stay out of the base lines and not interfere with base runners. If it is deemed that a fielder interfered with a runner, the runner will be awarded the base. In the case that a fielder is in the base line in order to make a play, the runner must try to avoid contact at all cost. If in the referee’s opinion the base runner interfered with the fielder the runner will be called out. Running past another runner shall result in the passing runner being called out. Ties go to the runner. We implement an Infield Fly Rule to prevent unfair gamesmanship by the fielders that would result in an easy double play or triple play. The infield fly rule applies only when there are fewer than two outs, and there is a force play at third base (i.e. there are runners at first and second base, or the bases are loaded). In these situations, if a fair fly ball is a kick that, in the umpire's judgment, is catchable by an infielder with ordinary effort, the umpire shall call "Infield fly", and the kicker will be out regardless of whether the ball is actually caught in flight. If the ball is near the foul lines, the umpire is to declare "Infield fly, if fair." If the ball is not caught and ends up foul, then infield fly is cancelled, and the play is treated as an ordinary foul ball. Umpires also typically raise one arm straight up to signal to everyone that the rule is in effect. Any fair fly ball that could have been caught by an infielder with ordinary effort is covered by the rule regardless of where the ball is caught. The ball need not be caught by an infielder, nor must it be caught in the infield. For example, if an infielder retreats to the outfield in an effort to catch a fly ball with ordinary effort, the Infield Fly Rule may be invoked, even if an outfielder ultimately caught the ball, and even if no infielder attempted to make a play on the ball. Similarly, a fly ball within the infield that could have been caught by an infielder with ordinary effort, but is caught by an outfielder, would also be covered by the rule. If "infield fly" is called and the fly ball is caught, it is treated exactly as an ordinary fly ball; the kicker is out, there is no force, and the runners must tag up to advance. On the other hand, if "infield fly" is called and the ball hits the ground without being caught, the kicker is still out, and there is no force. However, the runners do not need to tag up to advance, and can do so at their own risk. All challenges and disputed calls must be made by either the captain or co-captain. Other team members disputing calls may be ejected from the game. Run Limit Every game will be limited to a 10 run differential. Teams can score an unlimited amount of runs, but will be capped out at a 10 run differential. For example, if the final of a game is 14-2 it will be recorded as 12-2. Technical Fouls Technical Fouls are issued for unsportsmanlike conduct before, during, and after the match. The referee has total discretion of what is considered unsportsmanlike conduct. Receiving a technical foul will result in removal from one game, and your team will play one person down for the rest of that game. Ejections Ejection of player(s) results in teams playing down a player(s) during the rest of the match. Total discretion of ejection is up to the referee and a player(s) can be ejected without getting a technical foul first. The ejected player must leave the premise (including facility and parking lot of the facility) before play will resume. Fighting or responding to a fight in a violent manner will almost always result in ejection from league, no refund, and could result in the indefinite suspension of all or any Joimo activity or program indefinitely. Rules are subject to review and change by Joimo directors following incidences. Unsportsmanlike Conduct The following are but not limited to be considered unsportsmanlike: yelling at the referee, wasting time, yelling at the opposing team, and fighting. If an unsportsmanlike act occurs after the match or reported a later time Joimo reserves the right to eject that player(s) from the next match. Referee has total discretion of unsportsmanlike conduct. Playoffs Every team will make the playoffs, which will take place on the 8th week of the season. If there is an odd amount of teams in the league the two last place teams will play a single elimination game (10 minute limit) before advancing. If still tied at the end of this game, a coin toss will decide the winner (called by the higher placed team). First place teams will always get a "bye" when needed. The rankings will be determined by the following point system: • Win = 3 points • Tie = 1 point • Loss = 0 points Teams that have the same Average Points Per Game are further ranked by the following tiebreaker system: 1. Head-to-Head Games 2. Amount of Forfeits 3. Elimination Game (10 minute maximum) 4. Coin Toss Fort Lauderdale - Co-ed 5v5 Open Indoor SoccerJoimo Soccer follows the guidelines of FIFA Laws of the Game:http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/lawsofthegame.html With these exceptions: Number of Players on the Field Each team consists of a maximum of 5 players and a minimum of 3 on the field, one of whom must be the goalkeeper. Every player that signs up as an individual will be provided a Joimo t-shirt that they must wear to every game (Unless t-shirts will not be provided). Teams made up of individual sign ups are permitted to bring walk on players (see Walk Ons) as long as the majority of the team votes that it is okay. A Joimo sports director will decide if the votes, for and against, are equal. If a player signs up for a specific team they must have a minimum of 10 players on their roster. There is no maximum to the number of players they can have on their roster. However, once the league starts, the roster is considered final. Any additional players, not on the roster, can play for the team as a walk on (see Walk Ons). Joimo t-shirts will only be provided for the first 10 players and each additional player must purchase a Joimo t-shirt for $10 (price is subject to change). Walk Ons A team is allowed to bring an unlimited number of walk on players to the each game but they are subject to pay $15 per game and pass all player eligibility. In addition, the walk on player must sign a waiver of liability and play for only one team in that league. The walk on player will be added to that team's roster. No new walk on players will be allowed to play during the playoffs, only walk on players who are on the roster and have played at least one game in the regular season. Player Eligibility All participants must be at least 18 years of age or older and bring proper identification documentation (driver's license, ID card, passport, or military id) to every game for check in. The referee and/or a Joimo sports director will check in each player before the game is played and no player shall be allowed to play if not checked in. No jewelry, earrings, hats, or bracelets will be allowed in play unless properly bandaged and approved by the referee. Females are allowed to play in men's leagues but not vice versa. If a walk on player is present they will have to wear a shirt of similar color. Shin guards are recommended but not required. Shoes are required. Cleats are not allowed. Players without proper equipment will be sent off the field until the referee is satisfied. In this case another player on the same team will be able to come on the field. A game ball of size 3 or 5, nets, and goals (6x6 feet) will be provided by the league. Substitutions Substitutions are only allowed in the following situations: (a) when your team has a goal kick, corner kick, or throw-in, (b) when a player is injured and needs to come out of the game, (c) when a goal is scored, either team may substitute. Before substitution notify the referee. Slide Tackling No slide tackling is allowed. The goalkeeper may slide in their own penalty box and if momentum should carry them outside the penalty box, the slide will be allowed. Total discretion will be to the referee. Forfeits If a team cannot field 3 players upon ten minutes of start time then they will forfeit the game. A forfeit occurs after ten minutes from start time and one or both teams are unable to field the minimum of 3 players per team. The forfeit will be recorded in a loss of 0-3. If a forfeit is unavoidable, the forfeiting team may notify Joimo at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled match time; otherwise the team will be charged a $30 fee and cannot play another game till the fee is paid. In case of a forfeit Joimo will do its best to find a replacement team but does not guarantee placement. Goalkeepers A goalkeeper is not allowed to intentionally handle the ball with his/her hands if a team-mate has intentionally passed the ball to them with either their feet. A goalkeeper is allowed to handle the ball with his/her hands if a teammate passed it to them, in the air or on the ground, by a part of the body other than the foot (i.e., knee, head, shoulder). Players are not allowed to flick the ball up from the ground to themselves, before heading it back to the goalkeeper. This would be deemed as ungentlemanly conduct, and would result in a free kick being awarded. Any free kick awarded within 3 yards of the goal, will be moved at least 3 yards from the goal. Judgment of placement will be determined by the referee. Additionally, goalkeepers can kick or throw the ball as far as they like. Goalkeepers cannot punt the ball. Referees The referee is responsible for enforcing the "Laws of the Game" and all league rules. All decisions of the referee shall be final. There will be only one referee per game. At the end of each game the referee shall submit the game record and results to the Joimo sports director, including all additional information, such as roster, misconduct, injuries, etc. Duration of the Game The game shall be divided up into two equal periods of 25 minutes each. If a match is tied after 50 minutes the match is declared a tie. There will be a 5 minute halftime. Official game time will be held by the referee. No time outs! If a game should be canceled, for any reason, with more than half of the game already played, the current score is considered to be final. If a game should be canceled within the first half, for any reason, the game will be considered a bye for both teams. The Start of Play The winner of a coin flip decides which team will kick off or what side of the field to start play on. Home team will call the coin flip. Each team must stay in its own half of the field and the defending players must be at least 5 yards from the ball until it is kicked. After a goal, the team scored on will kick off. After halftime, the teams change ends and the kickoff will be taken by the opposite team to that which started the game. Kickoffs can go in any direction (forward, backward, or sideways) on first touch. Kickoffs are considered free kicks. Tie Games During regular season games, if a game ends in a tie, it is recorded as a tie. However, if it is during the playoffs, both teams will continue playing in a sudden death round (first team to score, wins) for two 5 minute halves. If teams are still tied after the sudden death rounds, there will be penalty kick face-off. Each team will pick 5 players, which were on the field at the end of the second sudden death round, to kick first. Kicks must be taken by 3 men and 2 women, in any order. All shootout kicks are worth one point. First kick will be determined by a coin flip, where the coin flip winner can choose to kick or defend first. Once all 5 players have kicked, the team with the most points will be declared the winner. If after 5 kicks the score is still tied, kicks will be made with the remaining players. No player can kick twice until every on their team has gone. Method of Scoring A goal is scored when the whole of the ball has passed over the goal line, between the goal posts and under the cross bar, whether on the ground or in the air. Goal Limit Every game will be limited to a 10 goal differential. Teams can score an unlimited amount of goals, but will be capped out at a 10 goal differential. For example, if the final of a game is 14-2 it will be recorded as 12-2. Touch Rule There is no limit to the number of times a man or woman touches the soccer ball. A penalty kick is awarded if any of the above offenses is committed by a player inside his own penalty area, irrespective of the position of the ball, provided it is in play. Penalty area will be consider 10 feet from the goal and decided upon referee discretion. Yellow Card A player is cautioned and given a yellow card if he commits any of the following: (a) unsporting behavior, (b) shows dissent by word or action, (c) persistently infringes the Laws of the Game, (d) delays the restart of the game, (e) fails to stand the required distance for a corner kick or a free kick. After receiving a yellow card player must be substituted. A yellow card will result in a free kick. Two yellow cards in one game will result in a red card. Red Card A player is sent off and shown the red card if he commits the following: (a) guilty of serious foul play, (b) guilty of violent conduct, (c) spits on an opponent or any other person, (d) denies an opponent a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity with a foul, (e) uses offensive language, or (f) receives a second caution in the same match, (g) fighting. 1 Red Card is cause for ejection from current game and will have to leave the premises. 2 Red Cards in one season results in ejection from league, no refund. Fighting or responding to a fight in a violent manner will almost always result in ejection from league, no refund. Rules are subject to review and change by Joimo sports directors following incidences. Free Kick Free kicks are classified direct and require a referee's whistle to continue play. For all free kicks the defending team must be at least 3 yards from the ball or the goal line until the ball is kicked. Substitutions Non-league members are not permitted to play as a substitute for a league member who is unable to play. All participants must be registered through Joimo in order to play in the league. Substitutions can only be made between games, unless an injury occurs and the player must leave for that game. The first player who gets out will be the first player who goes back in the game if a catch is made by your team. Start Time A team will forfeit a set if a game cannot start on time due to the "Number of Players on the Court" requirement not being satisfied, but enough players show up within 10 minutes of the start time. If the opposing team agrees to allow the team to play with “players down” then all sets and games will count. Referees The referees are responsible for enforcing the league rules. All decisions of the referees shall be final. There will be at least one referee per game. At the end of each game the referees shall submit the game record and results to the Joimo director, including all additional information, such as roster, misconduct, injuries, etc. Arguing with referees will not be tolerated. Referees have the final word in calling plays. Any player found arguing with a referee will be considered to have Unsportsmanlike conduct. The referee or Joimo sports director will give a player one single warning per game if found arguing with a referee or player. After the first warning, the referee or Joimo sports director will have the ability to eject the player from the game. See Unsportsmanlike conduct. Duration of the Game Each team will play one match per night against one other team, lasting up to one hour. The ref will write down the exact time the game starts. Every game, excluding playoffs, will have a time limit of ONE hour. The ref will give a 10 minute warning, when there is 10 minutes left in the hour of play time. The game will end at exactly one hour, no matter if it is in the middle of a match. The only exception to this rule will be if there is a tie (sets AND games) in which case the game will go in to sudden death, and the winner of that particular game will win for the night. A match is made up of 5 sets. A set contains a maximum of 5 games and a team wins a set by winning 3 games. Winning the match consists of winning 3 sets. Official game time will be held by the referee. If a game should be cancelled, for any reason, the game with the most active players on the court will be the winner. If the first game should be cancelled, for any reason, the game will be considered a bye for both teams. A Player may ask for a time out/stoppage of play from the referees if a player is hurt or court conditions become a hazard. Play will continue once issue has been resolved. The Start of Play Game begins by placing the seven dodgeballs along the center line, with the Power Ball in the center. Players then take a position behind their end line. Following a signal by the official, any player may run to these balls. Each player who retrieved a ball must run back to the starting line before throwing the ball. To prevent dodgeballs from being damaged, excessive fighting, and squishing pulling of a dodgeball will result in both participants being called out. If you cross the center line at any point in the match you will be called out. Each player can only grab one ball. Players are not permitted to swat/pass balls back to someone else on their team. Out of Bounds Players are not allowed to go out of bounds at any time. Players must have one foot in bounds at all times while in play. Teams will use substitute players to retrieve stray balls. Players in the game are not allowed out of bounds at anytime. Fouls/Outs When the ball hits you and then hits the ground you are out and must leave the court of play. A player can touch the center line (neutral line) but crossing the center line with his/her foot will be considered an out (total discretion is to the referee). Head Shots There is no throwing at the head of opposing players. All balls must be thrown shoulder length or below. A warning will be issued by the referee to the team throwing the dodgeball above the shoulders and than if continued the referee can issue technical fouls or ejections, if headshots seem intentional (total discretion is to the referee). If a player purposefully lowers their body to cause the ball to hit their neck or head, this will not be counted as a head shot and will be an out. If a male player attempts to block the head shot with their hands, that player is still out. Total discretion is to the referee. Technical Fouls Technical Fouls are issued for unsportsmanlike conduct before, during, and after the match. The referee and Joimo sports director has total discretion of what is considered unsportsmanlike conduct. Receiving a technical foul will result in removal from one game and your team will play one person down for the rest of that game. Ejections Ejection of player(s) results in teams playing down a player(s) during the rest of the match. Total discretion of ejection is up to the referee and Joimo sports director and a player(s) can be ejected without getting a technical foul first. Unsportsmanlike Conduct Unsportsmanlike Conduct is considered, but not limited to: yelling at the referee, kicking of dodgeballs, wasting time, staying in bounds once you are out, yelling at the opposing team, and fighting. If an unsportsmanlike act occurs during the game, after the match or reported a later time Joimo reserves the right to eject that player(s) from the next match. The Referee & Joimo Sports Directors have total discretion of unsportsmanlike conduct. Arguing with referees will not be tolerated. Referees have the final word in calling plays. Any player found arguing with a referee will be considered to have Unsportsmanlike conduct. The referee or Joimo Sports Director will give a player one single warning per game if found arguing with a referee or player. After the first warning, the referee or Joimo Sports Director will have the ability to eject the player from the game, with a suspension from the next game. Repeated offenses will result in expulsion from the season, based on the discretion of the Joimo Sports Director. General Rules The object of the game is to eliminate all opposing players by getting them "out". Getting a player out is done by either hitting an opposing player with a ball or catching a ball thrown by your opponent before it touches the floor. When a catch is made prior to the dodgeball touching the ground, the first player that was out in that game from the team making the catch will be allowed to re-enter the game. Once a player is out they must line up on their sideline in the order that they were out. Players and visitors may not be around this line while the game is going on. Each player has 5 seconds to throw the ball once it is in their possession (possession is determined by the referee). Any dead balls the team has 10 seconds to pick it up and another 5 seconds to throw it. The player who picks up the dodgeball must be the one to throw it; you can not exchange the dodgeball to another player. Failure to throw a ball within 5 seconds or pick up a dead ball within 10 seconds will result in that player being called “out.” A player is not permitted to dribble the ball or place it back on the ground once it has been picked up. A player is not allowed to place the ball on the opposing side of the center line and then pick the ball back up to avoid the 5 second count. This will result in the ball being forfeited to the opposing team. A player cannot stand on his/her knees during any point of the match. But will be permitted to go to their knees attempting to catch the ball. A player will be permitted to catch a ball if they are on the floor. A player may use the dodgeball to block an opposing team's thrown dodgeball but this does not reset the players 5 second count. A player will be called out if they drop their dodgeball while using it to block an opposing team's thrown dodgeball. A player is out if any attempted catch is dropped. If a ball hits and ricochets off you and you catch a different ball before the ricochet ball hits the ground, the catch does not count and you are out. If a ball hits and ricochets off you, and you get hit by a different ball while attempting to catch the ricochet ball, you are out. In this case, even if you catch the ricochet ball, the catch will not count since you were already out. If a ball hits and ricochets off you and another teammate catches the ball before it hits ground, then both you and the person who threw the ball are out, and someone else on your team is permitted to come back in. If a ball hits and ricochets off you and then hits another teammate prior to hitting the floor, only you are out. Not your teammate. Each player can only be in possession of one dodgeball at a time. However, if a player catches a ball while already in possession of a dodgeball, the catch will be considered a catch (and the first person out may return to the game) but the player must drop one of the balls in a reasonable amount of time. The Referee will have discretion on what is considered reasonable. In the case that the 6.25 inch Power Ball is caught (instead of the normal sized 8.25 inch ball), two people in line on your team can come back instead of just one person and the person who threw the 6.25 inch Power Ball is out. Dead Dodgeballs A dodgeball is considered dead when it touches an object other than a person in play or a ball in play. A ball deflected by a held ball is considered a live ball. If it is deflected then hits another player there is no consequence. If it is deflected and then caught by any person on the team, it is considered a catch and the person who threw the ball is out and a player on the same team as the person who caught the ball is allowed back into the game. You are not permitted to run out of bounds, via the side-lines , center line or end-line, to catch a deflected ball. One-on-One If each team has one player left on the court of the same gender, the referee will pause the game and give each player two balls. The referee will blow the whistle and play will resume with both players starting on their “start line.” The players are free to move all around the court, disregarding the center court line. Once a ball is thrown, that ball becomes a dead ball and can not be used again. The game will end when a player is either hit or their ball is caught. In the case all balls become “dead” before a player is out, the referee will restart the match until a player gets out. Playoffs Every team will make the playoffs and this will take place on the 8th week of the league. If there is an odd amount of teams in the league the first place team will always get a "bye" when needed. The rankings will be determined by the following point system: * Win = 3 points * Tie = 1 point * Loss = 0 points Teams that have the same Average Points Per Game are further ranked by the following tiebreaker system: 1. Head-to-Head Games 2. Score Differential 3. Score For 4. Shutouts 5. Coin Toss Fort Lauderdale - Co-ed 8v8 Open Dodgeball WednesdaysNumber of Players on the CourtEach team consists of a maximum of 8 players and a minimum of 7 players on the court. 4 males and 4 females play each game. Teams can have a maximum of 4 men and a minimum of 3 women on the court at once. If a team is short players, the team may borrow LEAGUE players from another team as long as that team is not playing. Number of Players on a Team If a player signs up as an individual (not for a specific team) they will be placed on a team of 12 to 16 players, inclusive. Every player that signs up as an individual will be provided a Joimo t-shirt that they must wear to every game. Teams made up of individual sign ups are permitted to bring walk on players (see Walk Ons) as long as the majority of the team votes that it is okay. A Joimo director will decide if the votes, for and against, are equal. If a player signs up for a specific team they must have a minimum of 12 players on their roster. There is no maximum to the number of players they can have on their roster. However, once the league starts, the roster is considered final. Any additional players, not on the roster, can play for the team as a walk on (see Walk Ons). Joimo t-shirts will only be provided for the first 16 players and each additional player must purchase a Joimo t-shirt for $10 (price is subject to change). Walk Ons A team is allowed to bring an unlimited number of walk on players to the each game but they are subject to pay $15 per match and pass all player eligibility. No jewelry, earrings, or bracelets will be allowed in play unless properly bandaged and approved by the referee. Player Transfers Players must sign up for one team and the roster will be finalized after the first week. During the regular season teams can pick up any other player in the league to play for their team. During playoffs only players on your roster may play on your team and no additions are allowed once playoffs start. Court Size The court is rectangular (50 feet by 30 feet) with a divided central line. Player Equipment Six 8.25 inch foam balls and one 6.25 inch "Power Ball" foam ball will be provided by Joimo for each game. Fort Lauderdale - Open Co-ed 7v7 SoccerJoimo Soccer follows the guidelines of FIFA Laws of the Game:http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/lawsofthegame.html With these exceptions: Number of Players on the Field Each team consists of a maximum of 7 players and a minimum of 5 on the field, one of whom must be the goalkeeper. Teams can have a maximum of 4 men and a minimum of 2 women on the field at once. If a team cannot field the minimum number of 5 players a forfeit will be declared unless the team captains and referee agree on alternate plan. Number of Players on a Team If a player signs up as an individual (not for a specific team) they will be placed on a team of 10 to 14 players, inclusive. Every player that signs up as an individual will be provided a Joimo t-shirt that they must wear to every game. Teams made up of individual sign ups are permitted to bring walk on players (see Walk Ons) as long as the majority of the team votes that it is okay. A Joimo sports director will decide if the votes, for and against, are equal. If a player signs up for a specific team they must have a minimum of 10 players on their roster. There is no maximum to the number of players they can have on their roster. However, once the league starts, the roster is considered final. Player Transfers Players must sign up for one team and the roster will be finalized after the first week. During the regular season teams can pick up any other player in the league to play for their team. During playoffs only players on your roster may play on your team and no additions are allowed once playoffs start. Player Equipment The goalkeeper must wear colors which distinguish them from the other players and the referee. Each player must wear their Joimo team shirts. If a walk on player is present they will have to wear a shirt of similar color. Shin guards and cleats/shoes are required. Players without proper equipment will be sent off the field until the referee is satisfied. In this case another player on the same team will be able to come on the field. A game ball of size 5, nets, and goals (8x24 feet) will be provided by the league. Forfeits If a team cannot field 5 players upon ten minutes of start time then they will forfeit the game. A forfeit occurs after ten minutes from start time and one or both teams are unable to field the minimum of 5 players per team. Goalkeepers A goalkeeper is not allowed to intentionally handle the ball with his/her hands if a team-mate has intentionally passed the ball to them with either their feet or directly from a throw-in. This would be deemed as ungentlemanly conduct, and would result in an free kick being awarded. Any free kick awarded within 5 yards of the goal, will be moved at least 5 yards from the goal. Judgment of placement will be determined by the referee. Additionally, goalkeepers can kick, punt, or throw the ball as far as they like. If a game should be cancelled, for any reason, with more than half of the game already played, the current score is considered to be final. If a game should be cancelled within the first half, for any reason, the game will be considered a bye for both teams. The Start of Play The winner of a coin flip decides which team will kick off or what side of the field to start play on. Home team will call the coin flip. Each team must stay in its own half of the field and the defending players must be at least 10 yards from the ball until it is kicked. A team cannot score a goal until a female teammate has touched the ball on their offensive side. The team can satisfy this rule in any of the following cases (on their offensive side of the field): a female touches the ball with any legal body part, a female takes a throw in, or a female takes a corner kick. If the defensive team has regained possession (meaning they have control over the ball, which is ultimately up to referee's discretion), then the offensive team will lose any female touch and will have to regain possession and get another female touch. If the ball should enter the goal without a female touch it will be ruled a free kick taken from the goal-kick box. It is up to the referee to rule if a female touch occurred. There are only two exceptions to the female touch rule. The first is that a female player can score a goal from her defensive side, without ever having been on the offensive side. The second is for a free kick (not including corner kicks), where the kicker can be male or female. In the case of a free kick (not including corner kicks), consider that the female touch rule is satisfied prior to the kick. Therefore, if the keeper deflects the shot, a male or female can immediately attempt to score. Once the defensive team has regained possession, the offensive team will need to regain a female touch. Offsides There will be no offsides! Fouls and Misconduct All free kicks are direct, including corner kicks. An free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following offenses in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: (a) dangerous play, (b) deliberately handles the ball with their hands, or (c) tackles an opponent to gain possession of the ball, (d) making contact with the opponent before touching the ball, (e) obstruction, deliberate act of a player, not in possession of the ball or not attempting to play the ball. For all free kicks the defending team must be at least 5 yards from the ball or the goal line until the ball is kicked. Any player who commits encroachment (this includes jumping towards the ball and/or sticking your leg towards the ball) will be given a warning and if the player still continues they may receive a yellow card. Penalty Kick A penalty kick is a free kick taken at the penalty mark. All players except the player taking the kick and the goalkeeper must stay outside the penalty area and be at least 10 yards from the ball (hence the arc at the edge of the penalty area). The goalie in goal at the time of the foul must face the kick. Throw In When the ball has wholly crossed the touchline, it is put back into play by a throw-in from the spot where it went out and by a player from the opposite team to the player who last touched it. The player taking throw in must have both feet on the ground. A goal cannot be scored directly from a throw-in. A goalkeeper is not allowed to intentionally handle the ball with his/her hands if one of their players throws it to them. Goal Kick When the ball has wholly crossed the goal line after being last touched by a player from the attacking team, it is put back into play by a kick from the goal area by the defending team. Goal kicks are considered free kicks. Ball In and Out of Play The ball is out of play when (a) it has wholly crossed the goal line or touchline, whether on the ground or in the air, or (b) when the game has been stopped by the referee. The ball is in play at all other times. Corner Kick When the ball has wholly crossed the goal line after being last touched by a player from the defending team, it is put back into play by a kick by the attacking team from the corner on the side the ball went out. Corner kicks are considered free kicks. Field Supervision Joimo will provide nets, referees, and size 5 soccer balls. If games are canceled due to weather or reasons outside of Joimo's control, Joimo will attempt to reschedule. However there is no guarantee that games will be rescheduled and no refunds will be made. Playoff Eligibility At the end of each regular season the top 4 teams will advance to the playoffs. The rankings will be determined by the following point system: * Win = 3 points * Tie = 1 point * Loss = 0 points Teams that have the same Average Points Per Game are further ranked by the following tiebreaker system: 1. Head-to-Head Games 2. Goal Differential 3. Goals Scored 4. Shutouts 5. Coin Toss Margate - Men's Open 6v6 SoccerJoimo Soccer follows the guidelines of FIFA Laws of the Game:http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/lawsofthegame.html With these exceptions: Number of Players on the Field Each team consists of a maximum of 6 players and a minimum of 4 on the field, one of whom must be the goalkeeper. If a team cannot field the minimum number of 4 players a forfeit will be declared unless the team captains and referee agree on alternate plan. Number of Players on a Team If a player signs up as an individual (not for a specific team) they will be placed on a team of 10 to 12 players, inclusive. Substitutions Substitutions are allowed at anytime during the game. Touch Rule There is no limit to the number of times a player touches the soccer ball. Offsides There will be no offsides! Fouls and Misconduct All free kicks are direct, including corner kicks. A free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following offenses in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: (a) dangerous play, (b) deliberately handles the ball with their hands, or (c) tackles an opponent to gain possession of the ball, (d) making contact with the opponent before touching the ball, (e) obstruction, deliberate act of a player, not in possession of the ball or not attempting to play the ball. For regular season the first serve will be decided by rock, paper, scissors or coin toss. The receiving team will serve the second game. Repeat first game step for the third game. For playoffs it will be based on rankings. Technical Fouls Technical Fouls are issued for unsportsmanlike conduct before, during, and after the match. The Joimo sports director has total discretion of what is considered unsportsmanlike conduct. Receiving a technical foul will result in removal from one game, and your team will play one person down for the rest of that game. Ejections Ejection of player(s) results in teams playing down a player(s) during the rest of the match. Total discretion of ejection is up to the Joimo sports director and a player(s) can be ejected without getting a technical foul first. The ejected player must leave the premise (including facility and parking lot of the facility) before play will resume. Forfeits If a team cannot field the minimum number of 7 players within 10 minutes of the designated start time then they will forfeit the game unless the team captains and referee agree on alternate plan. The forfeit will be recorded in a loss of 0-3. To prevent dodgeballs from being damaged, excessive fighting/pulling of a dodgeball will result in both participants being called out. During a match, you will be given a warning the first time you cross the center line attempting to get a ball (see the Fouls/Outs section for more information). If you cross the center line again at any point in the match you will be called out. Each player can only grab one ball. Players are not permitted to swat/pass balls back to someone else on their team. Out of Bounds Players are not allowed to go out of bounds when trying to dodge a ball. If a player goes out of bounds to avoid being hit with a ball that player will be considered out. A player may leave the boundaries through their end-line only to retrieve a stray ball. The player retrieving the stray ball will only have 10 seconds to get the ball and must re-enter through their end-lines. The referee will notify each team of the out of bounds lines before each game and total discretion is based on the referee. A warning will be issued by the referee to the team throwing the dodgeball above the shoulders and than if continued the referee can issue technical fouls or ejections. If a player purposefully lowers their body to cause the ball to hit their neck or head, this will not be counted as a head shot and will be an out. If a player attempt to block the head shot with their hands, that player is still out. Failure to throw a ball within 5 seconds or pick up a dead ball within 10 seconds will result in forfeiting the dodgeball to the opposing team. A player is not permitted to dribble the ball or place it back on the ground once it has been picked up. If a player does so, the ball must be given to the opposing team. A player cannot stand on his/her knees during any point of the match. If a ball hits and ricochets off you and you get hit by a different ball while attempting to catch the ricochet ball, you are out. However, if a player catches a ball while already in possession of a dodgeball, the catch will be considered a catch (and the first person out may return to the game) but the player must drop one of the balls. In the case that the 6.25 inch Power Ball is caught (instead of the normal sized 8.25 inch ball), two people in line on your team can come back instead of just one person. Dead Dodgeballs A dodgeball is considered dead when it touches an object other than a person in play or a ball in play. A ball deflected by a held ball is considered a dead ball. If it is deflected then hits another player there is no consequence. If it is deflected and then caught by the same person on the team, it is considered a catch and the person who threw the ball is out and a player on the same team as the person who caught the ball is allowed back into the game. You are permitted to run out of bounds, via the side-lines and end-line, to catch a deflected ball. Shutouts 5. Coin Toss Rancho Bernardo - Men's 7v7 SoccerJoimo Soccer follows the guidelines of FIFA Laws of the Game:http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/lawsofthegame.html With these exceptions: Number of Players on the Field Each team consists of a maximum of 7 players and a minimum of 5 on the field, one of whom must be the goalkeeper. Any additional players, not on the roster, can play for the team as a walk on (see Walk Ons). Joimo t-shirts will only be provided for the first 12 players and each additional player must purchase a Joimo t-shirt for $10 (price is subject to change). Walk Ons A team is allowed to bring an unlimited number of walk on players to the each game but they are subject to pay $10 per game and pass all player eligibility. Player Transfers Once a player is registered with a team, he or she may not switch to a different team in the same league without the written authorization of the team manager/captain and approval from a Joimo sports director. Forfeits If a team cannot field 5 players upon ten minutes of start time then they will forfeit the game. A forfeit occurs after ten minutes from start time and one or both teams are unable to field the minimum of 5 players per team. Goalkeepers A goalkeeper is not allowed to intentionally handle the ball with his/her hands if a team-mate has intentionally passed the ball to them with either their feet or directly from a throw-in. Any free kick awarded within 5 yards of the goal, will be moved at least 5 yards from the goal. Judgment of placement will be determined by the referee. Additionally, goalkeepers can kick, punt, or throw the ball as far as they like. A goalkeeper is not allowed to intentionally handle the ball with his/her hands if their player throws it to them. Goal Kick When the ball has wholly crossed the goal line after being last touched by a player from the attacking team, it is put back into play by a kick from the goal area by the defending team.
